Bön School Project in East Tibet

In 2005 the Khyungmo Charitable School in Amdo, East Tibet, has been opened with financial support of H. E. Yongdzin Lopön Tenzin.

Boen Schulprojekt in Ost Tibet 02At present the school accomodates 80 students, monastic students and nomadic children - girls and boys.

The existence of a bönpo school in Tibet has great relevance, contributing to elucidate the local Bön families their religious and cultural roots and precious heritage, thus preserving their identity.

The children learn Chinese, Tibetan, English and other subjects. In this way they maintain their cultural identity and strenghened can face the challenges ahead to find a place in a society dominated by Chinese citizens.

Boen Schulprojekt in Ost Tibet 03The costs for accomodation, board, utilities such as water, electicity, firewood etc. and fees for teachers and cooks amount to 42 Euros per month and student.

We would be delighted to mediate personal sponsorship. All donations received will be collected to form a dedicated children fund.
